  2001 Marc Bredif Vouvray.

Grapefruit, salt, "bright" and exciting. Thick and syrupy - it really covers the tongue. Alaina says there is "some kind of green taste, like eucalyptus or chives." I'd side with the chives, if you're asking me. But without the aftertaste or the bad breath that comes from chives, of course. Minerals. Rocks. Trees. Bushes and flowers. Alright, after Rocks I am lying. The Marc Bredif comes from the Loire region of France; a region of France made famous in a statement by Frasier Crane. "Loire valley my ass." Ok, not really. (As Calvin would say, today is opposite day!) An encyclopedia I own says that the Loire Valley is the "spiritual home" of Sauvingon Blanc but this isn't a Sav Blanc, ergo I'm worshipping demons or something. So remember that the next time you take communion in France. But Joffre, the Geography King will tell me that Vouvray is a town on the Loire and he would be correct. This Vouvray is very tasty. I enjoyed it with biscuits, but probably should have sipped it while eating a melon in St. Estephe while being fed peeled grapes by a scantily clad woman while I was soaking my feet in a saltwater scrub. Alas, too bad. Well, at least I had the wine.

For those of you who get teary eyed at a really good blog (i.e., Hoos' very nice blog), please visit Mr. Tim Enloe at Societas Christiana. When people ask me what my blog wants to be when it grows up, I say it wants to be like the ViewfromPeniel.blogspot.com or like that fabulous piece of work Tim Enloe's putting together. Yeah, you heard me. Dr. L. best beware. Plus, Tim's got me linked, while the good Doctor does not.

So, kudos to Tim! And, like Joffre, Moriah, Carrie, et. al. who are offended with me for neither linking you to my blog nor emailing you back in a timely fashion, I'm sorry. I hope to do a redesign in three weeks or so and you'll be linked.

Love you all.
